I’ve been needing to address this for a while…
Just because artists don’t say on their profile that they don’t allow reproduction of their work, doesn’t mean it’s okay to post their artwork.
Pixiv has strict policies, and one of the first things that’s said on their prohibited acts is posting/using artist’s work without consent (permission). Posting their work on websites other than Tumblr (such as Facebook, Twitter, Zerochan, We Heart It, Instagram and etc.) s prohibited without consent from the artist.
This means editing peoples artworks and posting it, coloring over peoples artworks and posting it, adding text to artworks and posting it, and altering the work in any way without permission is not allowed.
I know that in the past that I have posted from artists without permission. But like me, people have completely switched to only uploading posts with permissions, which is the best thing to do.
I have sent apologies to almost all the artists that I’ve reposted from without consent, and have asked them if it’s okay to posting it with permission on my blog again.
I guess what I’m trying to say is please don’t post/edit/translate other peoples without permission from the artist. I’m tired of seeing unsourced art/art posted without consent and people deleting their pixiv accounts.
Also to mention, We Heart It, Tumblr, Zerochan, Instagram, Facebook and any other form of social media website that has posted artwork that is not it’s origin does not count as a source.
